Der Autor beginnt sein Werk zun?chst mit einigen abstrakten und eher metaphysischen ?berlegungen, geht zur Arbeitsweise unseres Bewusstseins ?ber, ?bertr?gt die sich daraus ergebenen Erkenntnisse in die Praxis und schlie?t sein Werk dann mit drei 1909 erg?nzten Kapitel ab, in denen er die Funktionsweise des Bewusstseins an Hand des organischen Aufbaus des Menschen erkl?rt und die Beziehung des menschlichen Bewusstseins zum G?ttlichen darlegt. Das Besondere an diesem Buch ist, dass es dem Autor gelingt, wissenschaftliche Rationalit?t mit christlicher Mystik zu verbinden und beide zu einem Ganzen zusammenzuf?hren. Zum Autor: Thomas Troward lebte von 1841 bis 1916 und war ein Autor, dessen Werke die amerikanische New Thought Movement (Neugeist-Bewegung) ma?geblich beeinflussten. Er wurde in Indien als Kind britischer Eltern geboren und wurde somit sowohl durch das Christentum als auch durch die indische Glaubenswelt gepr?gt. Nachdem er seine sp?tere T?tigkeit als Bezirksrichter von Punjab beendete und in den Ruhestand ging, widmete er seine Zeit dem Verfassen esoterischer und metaphysischer Schriften. Thematisch verband er in ihnen die Lehren des Christentums, Hinduismus und Buddhismus und versuchte ihren gemeinsamen esoterisch-mystischen Kern herauszuarbeiten. Ungew?hnlich ist jedoch, dass er sich diesem Thema auf sehr rationale und logische Weise n?herte, und somit einen g?nzlich neuen Weg zum Verst?ndnis der mystischen Esoterik er?ffnete. Obwohl Thomas Troward im englischen Sprachraum immer noch als einer der herausragendsten Philosophen und Metaphysiker anerkannt wird, sind seine Werke bisher niemals in die deutsche Sprache ?bersetzt worden.
