Si tratta del disegno o, meglio, della costruzione geometrica degli anfiteatri, ripensata da Mark Wilson Jones, il quale nel 1993 ha pubblicato un saggio - diventato anch'esso di fondamentale rilevanza - dal titolo esemplificativo "Designing Amphitheatres". Rispetto, quindi, agli aspetti pi? propriamente costruttivi, della struttura piena o cava, e a quelli tipologici che hanno sostanzialmente incasellato i tanti casi specifici, l'attenzione ? stata posta sul riesame della forma in s?. Ancora una volta, gli edifici dell'antichit? presentano aspetti ancora oggi non chiariti definitivamente, nonostante l'alta tecnologia delle strumentazioni di rilievo.
